My Child is Gluten intolerant, Now What?

If your kid’s been feeling weak, losing weight, suffering from headaches or simply having tummy aches or unusual skin issues. The probabilities of your kid becoming gluten intolerant are high and you might be thinking what foods are appropriate and which are not, but don’t worry is not the end of the world. There are plenty of options out there. You will be able to find them right here in Australia along with natural products such as fruit and veggies, which are not only your best choice but a healthier alternative as well.

A word of caution though, there are many products in the market that are declared gluten-free but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are as such. Sometimes food sources come from a mix of wheat, barley or Rye, and these have been processed and transformed into gluten-free food by adding preservatives. It is better for the gluten intolerant health to find natural products that do not contain any traces of these type of grains at all.

When looking for products that could be an alternative to existing no gluten-free products, we should look at rice crackers or dry fruits, which could help fill in your food arsenal.

A good product that has recently got into the Australian market is Turbo Plantain Snacks, which is 100% natural fruit. Plantains have been well known for centuries in South America, Africa and Europe as the cooking banana o green banana.  It has a savoury flavour and tastes just delicious with dips. Unlike its cousin the bananas, plantains are an awesome food companion with salads. Plantains have a wide spectrum of health benefits and kids just love them. That yummy and lightly salted taste of this wonderful snack will soon become your favourite one.
